![]() Despite Greed using part of his "Ultimate Shield" on his hands, Edward slips past Greed's guard and breaks his neck. Seeing what Ed is capable of, Greed sends his gang to run away with Al, and he fights Edward alone. Dolcetto tries to physically force Ed to agree with the deal, but gets beaten in seconds. Ed then flies into a rage and threatens to beat Greed and his gang. Greed then explains that he doesn't know why Al would ever want his original body back, having not to deal with the physical conveniences of his human body. Greed offers a deal to Ed of how to manufacture his own Homunculi in exchange for information on how to become immortal. Finding him, Ed pays no attention to Al and Greed's suggestions about a deal and demands that Greed free Al, saying he wants nothing to do with his plans. Shortly after, Edward rushes into the Devil's Nest to rescue his brother and confront Greed. Greed asking Alphonse why he wants to restore his body. Within seconds, Greed rises up completely healed, complaining that he didn't have to hit him in the head so hard, thus proving that he is, in fact, a real Homunculus. In order to prove it, Greed has Roa smash the top part of his head off with his hammer. ![]() Al, however, denies it and claims it to be impossible. ![]() Greed even reveals himself to be a Homunculus. After a brief battle, the chimeras capture and bring Al to Greed, where Greed introduces himself and starts questioning Al about his empty armor. His hopes confirmed, Greed orders the rest of his gang: Roa, Dolcetto and, Martel to capture Alphonse. Bido locates the brothers, but is discovered and barely escapes the two. He sends out his gang's smallest member, the lizard chimera Bido, to confirm his suspicions. Contrary to fact, he believes that existing in this state would make him truly immortal. He first appears hiding in the Devil's Nest in Dublith, with his gang of chimeras, all of whom he apparently rescued from military experimentation.Īfter learning of the Elric brothers' battle with Scar, he becomes intrigued with the notion that the youngest brother, Alphonse, is an independent soul bound into a suit of armor. Then the Promised Day came.Greed's Ouroboros tattoo on the back of his left hand. He became disgusted with Father's selfish and cruel plans and swore to help Ed and Ling fight back to protect his new family and defy his vicious Father. After a few stern lectures from Ling, Greed began to realize that his desires were truly human: he wanted a loving family, something that Father could never give him. Wrath fought him to a standstill, and Greed fled once again.īeing the same opportunist as ever, Greed loosely sided with Edward and the other protagonists, but only because he wanted a circle of friends to call his own. It was agony to realize that all his beloved minions were gone, and he went straight to Wrath's residence to sort this out. At first, the new Greed obeyed Father's will, but his lost memories returned when he killed one of his earlier allies. Greed was shocked when Ling welcomed him with open arms, and the two of them shared a body. Greed returned when Father recognized Prince Ling as a fine vessel, and Ling eagerly accepted the Philosopher's Stone that he'd been seeking all along. He refused to rejoin his fellows, and ended up melted down and returned to Philosopher's Stone form. Greed fought him head-on, but was subdued and dragged back to Father's lair. When the Central forces stormed the place, led by King Bradley/Wrath. He offered a deal to the Elric brothers, who rejected it. He's not dedicated to evil like Pride and Lust are Greed just wants stuff, and he'll cooperate with anyone and strike any bargain to get his hands on new goodies. Much later, when Edward and Alphonse ended up in the Greed's den, the Devil's Nest, Greed showed his opportunistic nature. Around two hundred years before the Promised Day, Greed struck out on his own, and became the ringleader of a gang of thugs like he always wanted. He wants power and authority, too, which put him at odds with Father. Greed can't stand having a master or a boss he wants to be the boss, since his lust for possessions isn't limited to the physical. From the very start, Greed was the "problem child" among the seven homunculi, even counting the bratty Envy and the lazy Sloth.
